While the journey of women's football has been going from strength to strength, it was far from being called an easy ride. Lack of viewership and other related problems meant that it took years for women's football to get the recognition that it deserves.
And one of the biggest examples of the same can be referred to the fact that Chelsea Women were recognised or founded as a football club almost 90 years after the men's club. While that does indicate a long period, the future seemed to be bright and the players have proved the same time and again.
So let's take a close look at their journey and understand all about Chelsea Women's Football Club.
A Part of Footballing History
Chelsea Women's football club was founded in 1992 as the fans wished for a women's team to be a part of their historic club. It was initially named 'Chelsea Ladies Football Club', until a change a few years later, saw them be known as Chelsea Football Club Women.
The biggest turning point in their history was being voted to be run by Chelsea's Football in the Community organisation. It was more or less a decision that would encourage everyone to include them as part of their betting strategy.
Soon after the decision, the Blues got themselves promoted from the Southern Division to the top flight and they have managed to be seated in the top tier ever since. However, their glorious run was yet to begin as the club replaced George Michealas with Shain Gore only to see them narrowly avoid relegation through playoffs.

A good season of football
When it came to the 2007-08 season, Chelsea finished fifth after going through a squad overhaul that included players like Eni Aluko, Chamberlain, Lorrie Fair and so on. However, that also meant that there were more managerial changes to follow as Arsenal Women's reserve team coach Steve Jones took charge of the post.
While many coaches did come and go, an impactful appointment only came with the likes of Matt Beard. The English football manager took the team to their first cup final of the Women's Super League but ended up facing a defeat before resigning.
His replacement, Emma Hayes, had a tough period to start with but ended up taking them through a period of success. While their 2014 campaign saw them narrowly miss out on the league title, it was enough to make them qualify for the Champions League.
In 2015, the club won its first FA Cup and then followed with a league and cup double. In the same year, they also reached new heights by reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. Hence, that was the period of success that dominated Chelsea Football Club Women.
However, these actions did bear an impact and it was much greater than what you usually get to see at specific activities like
sports betting. The club went through a process of rebranding in 2018 as Hayes continued to take them places.
They also reached their first Champions League finals in 2021 but were forced to witness a defeat as Barcelona Femini beat them 4 goals to nil.
Key Players
You don't become one of the
best women footballers of all time within a fortnight. It takes years of training, hard work and a lot more to successfully prove that you are the best. While Chelsea were going through a brief period of struggle, they were able to eventually come out of the dark phase and roll out as Champions, thanks to the hard work and performances of their key players. And the club has always had the best players, who are also among the highest-paid female footballers in the world.
Karen Carney had a great professional football career where she played as a winger and midfielder. As the second most capped player she ended her career at Chelsea and went on to become a sports journalist.
White began her glorious career at Chelsea and later went on to join Leeds United, where she was the top scorer for the club in over three consecutive seasons. She has also had stints at various clubs before signing up for Manchester City, where she continues to impress and find the net against any opposition.
As England's record women's goalscorer, it's hard to see Ellen White slowing down anytime soon.
Fran Kirby is one among the current players in the Chelsea squad who is actively involved in taking the club forward. Her performances against some of the best clubs in the division have earned her applause and her name is one that is often included in fantasy football or
football betting, where everyone is discussing the potential of players.
Danish professional footballer, Pernille Harder is one of those players who never give up. Her never-ending spirit and the will to keep on scoring goals has always worked for Chelsea at important competitions. As she continues to put on goals on the scoresheet, we are sure that we are looking at a legend in the making.
Top Honours
Chelsea saw themselves reaching the top when they turned professional as honours and awards kept coming one after the other. They were pretty much the face of every competition and an important part of any online betting strategy.
From winning the Women's Super League for a record number of four times to winning the League Cup for two years in a row, Chelsea has certainly placed their mark in history. They have also won the FA Cup twice and won the Community Shield in 2020.
As the most successful team in WSL history, they look like a team that is hungry for more. Due to a particular limit in fixtures and competitions, if they want to win more, they would have to start playing
American football.
Hence, that was a brief take on champions who are also called Chelsea Football Club Women.
