The 56th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is certainly going to be known as the calm before the storm as it is the last game before four teams enter the playoffs. While we are starting to be aware of the top four, a battle between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) is something that one should never miss. With the tournament being the last where we will see Virat Kohli as captain, it should be soothing to see him finally lift the cup.

But for now, can his team go past the Capitals?

RCB Vs DC: T20 56 of 60

Both Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli are two of India’s finest batsmen who have managed to achieve multiple accolades. While Kohli leads the way on this front, Pant still has a lot to achieve and there’s no doubt in his potential to go further and do so. However, the question remains, which of these two captains can take their teams forward? With both teams yet to win their first IPL trophy, it would be interesting if they end up meeting again at the finals.

Friday’s game between these two powerhouses is going to be a joy to watch as both teams have what it requires to beat each other. But in the end, there has to be a winner and we are yet to find out the same.

Date and Venue

The last game before the playoffs between RCB and DC will take place on the 8th October 2021 at 7:30 PM and the action will unfold at Dubai International Stadium.

RCB Vs DC: Team Analysis

  1. RCB

RCB have always had their share of ups and downs which has highlighted all their efforts in trying to win an IPL trophy. While they are yet to succeed, there is always a feeling that they can move forward and get hold of the cup. So far this season, the team have showcased their potential in entering the playoffs and have enough firepower to go beyond. The likes of Glenn Maxwell and Harshal Patel have been vocal to that point and continue to do what they are good at.

While some may take time to consider another captain for RCB, one has to move on and think about the future where Kohli will not be the one making decisions. As they gear up against the capitals, RCB will have to be sure on all corners because the opponents can test them to the fullest.

  1. Delhi Capitals

There are a lot of changes that one can witness with the Capitals apart from a change in leadership. While Pant has showcased a glimpse of being a good captain, the ultimate test begins when he goes against Kohli and looks to enter the playoffs with the hope of reaching the finals. And in terms of squad depth, the Capitals have it all and we don’t necessarily see an area where they fall short of talent. With the opening partnership being of great importance, it is up to Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw to get them going.

With the pace being offered by Avesh Khan, the team can very well look to play their best when they meet a strong team like RCB. So if you want to place bets on this game or even consider cricket betting, BritainBet is the best solution for you.

  1. Individual Battles

Glenn Maxwell Vs Avesh Khan

Both RCB and DC have power hitters and bowlers. But if there is one battle that we would like to see then it would be Glenn Maxwell going against Avesh Khan. While Maxwell has been able to explore himself this season, Avish Khan could be the pacer that could prevent him from doing so. As a result, this is an individual battle that could go down to the wire.

Shikhar Dhawan Vs Yuzvendra Chahal

Shikhar Dhawan has not had a great record with leg-spinners and thus the threat that RCB’s Yuzvendra Chahal poses to him is not something that one can ignore. However, there are instances where Dhawan has managed to move past them and get to a good start. So if he does, then DC will have one half of their opening pair on fire. But if Chahal manages to get the better of Dhawan during the powerplay, then things could go well for RCB.

Virat Kohli Vs Kagiso Rabada

Kohli and Rabada have had a history where the latter has dismissed the top batsmen a number of times. But the battle could even go well for Kohli, who is in top form this season. While Rabada is known for taking wickets and creating records, he has not had the same fate this season. Due to that, one cannot tell what might happen when Rabada goes against Kohli until it happens.

  1. Pitch Report

The pitch at Dubai International Stadium has always been known as a belter for batting, which means it favours the batsman. But the second phase of the tournament has been a little different with bowlers being able to use the pitch to their advantage. If this difference works on Friday’s game, we can expect to see a mixed response with many favouring the team batting first.

RCB Vs DC: Head-to-head

Stats have always shown RCB managing to get the better of DC. The teams have played a total of 27 games, where RCB have had the majority of the cake. But DC is not far behind and they can always look to come from behind to score the winning runs or take the remaining wickets.
