The Wolves host the Hatters this weekend in a Premier League clash between two sides hungry for their first wins of the young season.
These familiar foes will square off at atmospheric Molineux Stadium. And you just know the fans will be up for this one!
Both teams have played some tight matches against quality opponents already. The lads are working hard but the goals haven't quite come yet. No worries though, they'll keep battling.
This figures to be a real scrappy affair! Don't expect a goal-fest with these two goal-shy squads still finding their scoring boots. More of a tactical chess match perhaps.
But the Wolves have some talented difference-makers who could always produce some magic. You can't ever count them out.
The Hatters won't go down easy though. They'll make the Wolves earn it for sure! Should be a competitive one.
At the end of the day, these are two determined clubs giving it everything. That's what football is all about.
The match will take place on Saturday, 23rd September, 2023, at Kenilworth Road, in Luton, Bedfordshire, England.
Right from the start, Luton showed they weren't scared of mighty Fulham. Manager Rob Edwards organized his players in a solid 5-4-1 formation.
He packed the defense with an extra center back to crowd out Fulham's clever attackers. Central defenders Osho and Lockyer defended the goal like brick walls, using their strength to block shots.
In midfield, combat soldier Henri Lansbury shielded the back line. He made crunching tackles to stop Fulham's playmakers from creating chances.
Luton's rock-solid defense frustrated Fulham in the first half. They just couldn't find spaces to attack in Luton's half of the field.
Luton's players stuck to the game plan, crowding out the middle and forcing Fulham wide. The visitors went into halftime satisfied with their stalemate against the London club.
Despite defending deeply, Luton still created a few counter attacks of their own. Speedy wing back Amari'i Bell burst forward on one counter.
He found himself free in front of goal with only the keeper to beat. But Bell slipped on his shot and somehow missed from point blank range! This wasted chance would come back to bite Luton.
In the second half, Fulham coach Marco Silva brought on sub Carlos Vinicius to spark his team. Right after coming on, Vinicius pounced on a defensive mistake and slotted home the winner!
Luton players dropped their heads after conceding the goal. Their superb effort seemed to be for nothing as Fulham went 1-0 up.
In the end, brave Luton got no points for their trip to London. But the players walked off with heads held high.
They gave one of the league's best teams a real scare with their discipline, defense, and heart. Luton can use this battling display as they continue their fight to stay up.
With more clinical finishing, the plucky boxers of Luton may just land some heavy blows against Premier League rivals this season
Wolverhampton played against Liverpool at the Molineux Stadium. Wolves have been playing well lately, while Liverpool came in with some tired players after international duty.
In the first half, Wolves were the better team by a country mile. Their speedy wingers Pedro Neto and Hwang Hee-Chan continuously caused problems for Liverpool's defense.
Neto made a great run down the left and passed to Hee-Chan, who calmly scored to put Wolves up 1-0. This was the time where Wolves had total control of the game.
After the goal, Wolves kept attacking and looked likely to score again. Right before halftime, Szoboszlai hit a great shot that the Liverpool keeper barely saved.
Liverpool's coach Jurgen Klopp brought on some subs like Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez just when the second half started. This gave Liverpool more energy in attack and eventually they started to turn the tides in their favor.
In the 55th minute, Mohamed Salah set up Cody Gakpo to score the equalizer for Liverpool. The momentum was shifting towards the Reds.
As the game went on, Wolves' players seemed to get tired from their earlier hard work. The midfield could not control play as well, allowing Liverpool to attack more.
Wolves kept fighting. But in the final minutes, Andy Robertson scored to put Liverpool ahead 2-1.
Right after, Liverpool scored again through young sub Harvey Elliott. The 3-1 scoreline made the game seem worse than it was for Wolves.
Overall, Wolves played bravely against one of the best teams in the league. For long stretches, they outplayed Liverpool through effort and teamwork.
Coach Gary O'Neil will be proud of how hard his players battled. If Wolves keep up this good form, more big wins are coming!

Mario Lemina is the heartbeat of the Wolves' team. He passes the ball around neatly and smartly. Nakamba is a tough midfielder who plays for Luton. Can Nakamba disrupt Lemina' rhythm?
Wolves winger Pedro Neto uses his super speed to zoom past defenders. But Luton center back Tom Lockyer is a rock who doesn't let attackers buy easily. Podence will have to show his tricky skills to get past Lockyer.
Up front, Pablo Sarabia will try to use his strength and scoring ability to find the back of the net. But Osho is a big, strong defender who can match Sarabia's power. Osho must stop Sarabia from having chances.
